As Above, So Below

When you meet a master swordsman,
show him your sword.
When you meet a man who is not a poet,
do not show him your poem. -- Zen Saying

  1. I was particularly smitten by this image and its title. How prescient and true. We are, during our brief existence, forever and inevitably suspended, between life and death, between the past and the future. We move further away from one and closer to the other, away from the known and experienced toward (however hopeful we are) the unknown and the unexperienced. Now is already the past; these sentiments, even as I type them, are already sliding into the past; I am still suspended in the continuum, but the words and thoughts behind me. Intellectually, we find it interesting to contemplate how the past might affect the future, and how the future might alter our sense of the past. Ultimately, though, what truly matters is the present, the moment, the now. This, as is the case with your other works are remarkable: exquisite art that at once draws the eyes and provokes/challenges the mind.
